Jordan Drankoski’s #LiveForThis Summer Moment
This week, featured Ambassador Dancing for Donuts’ Jordan Drankoski, professional dancer turned marketing guru and healthy living blogger, shares her #LiveForThis summer moment and even dishes tips.
What do you live for in the summer?
Jordan Drankoski of Dancing for Donuts: My absolutely favorite thing about summer is longer days, which means more time for activities! It makes me want to spend more time outdoors whether that’s hiking, enjoying a meal al fresco with a friend, relaxing by the beach or reading outside on my patio. Summer somehow makes it easier to be active and healthy (both mentally and physically), in my opinion, so I live for those extra hours to really enjoy being in nature.
As a busy entrepreneur how do you stay healthy on the go or on the road?
JD: I’m all about planning ahead and cannot go anywhere without my planner, so I write down all of my meals in there. I don’t always stick to them perfectly, but knowing a day or two ahead of time that I may have a super busy day or a day of travel allows me to gather healthy snacks or meals ahead of time. I love putting energy bars in my bag that have low amounts of sugar and minimal ingredients, nut butter packets, collagen packets that I can throw into my drinks, or whole fruit that I don’t need any utensils for.
What’s one #healthyeat you can’t live without?
JD: My daily smoothie! I have a green smoothie (nearly) every single day and not only does it taste amazing, but it makes me feel energized and healthy. I usually throw 1/2 a frozen banana and one or two frozen strawberries in a blender with almond milk, kale or spinach, some ground flax or chia seeds, protein powder, maca powder and a spoonful of peanut butter. So many goods in one super easy and convenient breakfast!
Lightning Round . . . Beach or Pool?
JD: Beach! Nothing beats the sound of the ocean waves.
Yoga or Hiking?
JD: And if you’d asked me this a year ago I would’ve said hiking, but I’ve gotten super into yoga lately! It makes me feel so strong and grounded.
Picnic in the park or dinner on the patio?
JD: As for dinner, on the patio for sure! I love being home and finally got my patio furniture all set up, so enjoying a dinner out there sounds like perfection!
A New York transplant now living in Los Angeles, Jordan Drankoski is a social media marketer and healthy living blogger. In a former life (up until just two years ago!) Jordan was a professional dancer performing in live shows, commercials and music videos. Transitioning from life as an entertainer and athlete to a career woman with a 9-5 job, Jordan realized how difficult it was to balance a busy life with a healthy one. Though she had been blogging for nearly five years, navigating this transitional time was what really fueled her passion for writing, and sharing her tips, tricks and recipes. She hopes to show others that being “healthy” not only means something different to everyone, but is attainable for people of all walks of life, budgets, and schedules.
